WHERE TO STAY
Historic Downtown McKinney
If you want the full wedding-weekend experience, Historic Downtown McKinney is our top recommendation! You’ll be close to the wedding venue and surrounded by locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, galleries, historic buildings, and plenty to explore. The Grand Hotel & Ballroom Our top pick for the quintessential McKinney experience! This beautiful historic boutique hotel sits right in the heart of the square, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and the wedding. The Grand is also home to Rick’s Chophouse, a longtime Downtown McKinney favorite for steaks, dinner, drinks, and Sunday brunch. It’s a great place to begin or end an evening on the square. The Bingham Estate For something a little different, The Bingham Estate is a gorgeous historic estate dating to 1883. It offers a more intimate boutique experience just south of the square. The two hotels below are conveniently located about a 12-minute drive or Uber ride from Historic Downtown McKinney and the wedding venue: Denizen McKinney Denizen McKinney is a stylish residential-style hotel at District 121. Guests are within walking distance of restaurants, entertainment, and outdoor gathering spaces within the development. McKinney is located north of Dallas, with Frisco just southwest of McKinney. If you’re flying into DFW International Airport or Dallas Love Field, renting a car can be helpful if you plan to explore North Texas. Uber and Lyft are also widely available. Once you’re in Historic Downtown McKinney, however, walking is one of the best ways to explore. Restaurants, shops, coffee, nightlife, and the museum are all concentrated around the historic square. McKinney also has a FREE Downtown Trolley that connects destinations and parking areas throughout downtown. Check the current route and schedule before your visit. Downtown McKinney Downtown Trolley
GETTING AROUND

WEDDING DAY TRANSPORTATION + PARKING
The Collin County History Museum is located at 300 E. Virginia Street, just a few blocks from the historic square. There is limited free curbside parking directly in front of the museum, along with additional free public parking lots and covered garages throughout Historic Downtown McKinney. That said, we highly recommend taking Uber or Lyft on wedding day. That way you can relax, celebrate, and enjoy the evening without worrying about driving or finding a parking spot. And if you’re staying on or near the Historic McKinney Square, even better—walk over!
Spring is one of our favorite times of year in North Texas. Late April and early May are generally warm and beautiful, making it a wonderful time to explore McKinney. That said, Texas weather likes to keep us guessing! We recommend checking the forecast as the wedding gets closer, especially if you’re planning outdoor activities during your visit. Evenings can occasionally be cooler, so a light jacket or wrap is always a good idea.
